If you are a child of the 60’s, then you can easily hear in your memory the lyrics to this Neil Sedaka blockbuster. If you can’t recall them, or are from a different generation, click here for a blast from the past.
Well, there comes a time in every relationship when things must change and so I must announce that I am breaking up . . . my original blog, Rethinking . . . thoughts and experiences of life, business, parenting and flyfishing.
Actually, this blog is giving “birth” to two new blogs. So, there are now three blogs, one for whatever your “persuasion”: a business blog, a thriller novels blog, and this original Rethinking blog.
This current blog remains, Rethinking. My intention is to focus more on my personal experiences of growing older (hopefully gracefully), parenting and living with a teenager, sharing my emerging philosophy of right living (and my mistakes) and of course chronicling my flyfishing adventures around the world (which I hope will be many).
Its first child, my business blog, will be hosted on my business website (businessbooks.johnrchildress.com) and will focus more on trying to make sense of the global world of business that, whether we like it or not, has a great deal of influence on every one of us and our future.
For the past 35 years I have been engaged in consulting and advising senior executive teams on leadership, teambuilding, culture change, strategy execution and turnarounds. There are, I believe, some fabulous personal, organizational and global lessons in these assignments, from helping management after the Three Mile Island Nuclear accident, to converting a Ford Escort assembly plant into a modern Jaguar production facility, to working with Saks Fifth Avenue and McDonald’s. Seemingly very different industries but with many of the same leadership and organisation challenges.
The other offspring blog, my Thriller Novels Blog, will be hosted on my thriller novels website, novels.johnrchildress.com. Here I will share with you the creative (I hope) process of conceiving and giving birth to thriller novels. You can find my current four novels, Almost Perfect, Game Changer, Business As Usual, and Bad Company there, with reviews, sample chapters, and even video trailers. Grab a beer or a glass of wine and get reading!
So, now you can dip into one or all three of my blogs and hopefully at one place or another find a morsel to make you think, to laugh, to question, or to just plain have an enjoyable break from your day.
“Action often produces results, even if you don’t know what you are doing.”
